Quacks at Work

Life would be simpler if medical practitioners could be cleanly divided into scientists and charlatans. Regrettably, the dichotomy is not always clear-cut. Moreover, the verdict of 22nd century physicians on our own theories and practice of, say, psychiatric medicine, may be no less unflattering than our perspective on early modern quacks.
